Blepharoplasty is an outpatient procedure. After your consultation and visit to his medical office in Lugano, Dr. Borra will estimate how long it will take to perform the procedure, it is usually pretty fast. Dr. Borra nevertheless takes the time that’s necessary to be sure to get symmetrical and beautiful eyes.

A complete surgery
Dr. Borra plastic surgeon points out that in order to have a perfect result you should recur to modern techniques and solve all the problems and asymmetries between the eyes. The problem may simply interest to the eyelids skin : in this case we proceeds by removing the excess skin. In other cases, however, it is good to remove the upper eyelid bags and if necessary the lower eye bags too. Sometimes the eyebrow looks down on the upper eyelid: with no added cuts, we can lift the eyebrow giving a lightening gaze.
Where are the incisions?
Dr. Borra performs the incisions in the crease on the eyelid, to make the scar invisible.
What can you expect after surgery?
The same day
You will be constantly under observation, until you are able to go home. Someone will have to take you home and drive. At home you will need assistance for a day or two. At home it is important to rest with a pillow to raise your head. Remember to buy prescribed medicines before surgery . Please have ice available to put on the eyes.
After four days
A few days after the majority of patients can return to social life with make up on. Usually four days after surgery Dr. Borra removes the stitches and you will see the first results. A bit ‘of swelling is normal during this time.
After six days
After six days, most patients return to work without signs.
